HMRC is making it easier and more efficient for you to manage your tax affairs by going digital. They are moving much of their correspondence online, which means you can access your important letters instantly through the HMRC app. This initiative will save taxpayers an estimated £50 million annually by the 2028-2029 tax year by reducing paper, printing, and postage costs. While digital access will be the norm, HMRC will still provide paper correspondence for critical information and those who are digitally excluded.

Open the app and sign in with your Government Gateway user ID and password. If you don't have one, you can create it through the app.
For quick access in the future, set up a 6-digit PIN, use your fingerprint, or enable facial recognition.
